The real question is, was it just one person (besides Sarah Palin) that wrote that speech, or was it a team of writers?

According to this CNN article, it was an evening full of bad puns from political stiffs. Some the quotes are absolutely ridiculous.

I’m just a bit agitated at all the “she did this,” or “she did that” comments when all she really did was deliver a prepared speech. Politics and goverment has become a bad show. All dialogue and no action.

I don’t like Mr. Obama either, but there are some rather compelling quotes in this Washington Post article. I believe what Mr. Obama was quoted as saying was a rather successful parry and return strike in the verbal fencing.

Does anyone care what Joe Lieberman thinks? That old fart jumps ship when the shit hits the fan. He can’t even figure out which political party he wants to be a part of. Where’s the loyalty, Joe? It’s a rhetorical question, because Joe does whatever he needs to do to maintain his political career.

Lieberman is not a “stand-up guy.” Making him sit down to read “Profiles In Courage” would make me feel better.

Then I read this New York Times article. McCain has a wanker praising him and is likely to build his campaign foundation out of warmongering? These idiots don’t have kids that are over in Iraq fighting for one man’s agenda because they needed college tuition. Not that serving your country or protecting it is wrong, but what else are you going to do while you are in office, Mr. McCain? How about enact some legislation to provide decent jobs via government contracts and get some consumers out there spending money to help this ailing economy of ours? Instead, waste your time and other peoples lives instead of pulling them out of the Middle East, including Afghanistan, and use that manpower to protect our borders. Allow our trained forces to strike like a snake in tall grass that has had its peace disturbed. In Iraq, they have only become target practice for extremists.

I really hope a former prisoner of war has the heart not to perpetuate the farce that is Iraq.

All aboard the ethics investigation train! It looks as though Mrs. Palin is going to be burning the candle at both ends. I’m also not so sure it would be wise for Mr. McCain to continune keeping her as his running mate. This situation is undoubtedly not good for his campaign.

I have compassion for her children. Going from relative obscurity in Alaska to national fishbowl would be no fun at all.

I feel sorry for the people of Thailand because the corruption of their government is more pervasive than ours.

I guess it has been three days since John McCain announced that Sarah Palin is his running mate and all we know about her is that she has a seventeen year old daughter who is pregnant.

Okay. That’s nice and all, but what issues does she stand for? What was her voting record like while she served in the Alaska state legislature? How long has she been involved in politics? I don’t know because I haven’t found a media outlet reporting on it. No questions like that floating around, are there?

However, there have been questions about McCain’s vetting process. Are you fucking kidding me? Are these the hot-button issues? Are these the subjects that concern the majority of voting Americans? Do you know how many teenagers are pregnant in the United States right now? I don’t know the exact number, but I’m certain there are a lot of them. There are a lot of teenagers living in poverty that are pregnant in this country and you don’t hear a whole lot of reporting about that. In fact, I’m willing to bet that the authors of the stories reporting about Bristol Palin’s pregnancy know or are related to a pregnant teenager, or a teenager that recently gave birth. It’s a fact of life. In the medieval period in Europe, it was common for thirteen and fourteen year old kids to have children, even over the watchful eye of repressive catholic clergy.

To the press: get over it. She’s pregnant, now move on and start giving some pertinent information about candidates that I can use to make an intelligent voting decision. Thanks.

What’s the EU going to do? Wag their fingers? Vote to pass a strongly-worded resolution?

This is laughable.

Russia just backed two regions that seceded from their country (Georgia) as the world sat by and watched. If they had a large enough pair to pull that off, what could the EU possibly do to grab Putin by the shorty and curlies.

The best part is the fact that Russia has to pay Georgia to run oil and natural gas through pipelines that just so happen to run right through the two “breakaway regions.”

Not anymore.

I feel sorry for a lot of the folks that live in Louisiana. Especially the people that have been rebuilding and now stand to lose it all again. Then again, they live next to the ocean in an area that sits below sea level, so I would think that they realized the potential consequences of their situation.

It will be interesting to see how the federal government will respond this time around.

It only took three days for the morons to finally give up the charade. I think they underestimated the blanket of media coverage that they would receive and just couldn’t stand it any longer.

How could you keep a straight face showing people those pictures? Hilarious!

James Robinson is. All three of them. A whole new federal government department was formed to make a list to protect United States citizens, and that list states that they are.

While I did chuckle a bit, this is really sad. It’s a surreal foreshadowing of George Orwell’s 1984. The list has United States citizens on it, is made by a government agency, yet you can’t get a copy of this list for yourself. Didn’t they pass some act or something that was supposed to, like, give…you know…United States citizens, like, the power to get, like, copies of all the documents they wanted, or whatever? How could I be so stupid? Revealing the list would pose a huge threat to national security, especially if James Robinson is on the list. The government didn’t even know there were three of them! That’s scary, people!

I’m not sure whether or not my favorite part of the article is when they reveal how each of the Robinson families avoid being flagged by the list or when they reveal that one James Robinson is eight years old.

If they ever catch the real terrorist that refers to himself as James Robinson they better let everyone know what he looks like, that they have apprehended him, and make sure they take his name off of that damn “list.”
