I was sad to here about this.
The man was a voice of reason in America for a long time. He was more than all of the stuffed-shirts on TV today will ever be. You could tell how he felt about events he reported by the sound of his voice. He will be missed.
How many more whistleblowers is it going to take for it to stop?
The government is not your friend.
Iranians are protesting because they’re tired of their hard-lined, conservative, Muslim cleric-run government.
Honduras has gone through a coup.
Dead bodies are piling up in Mexico over cocaine trafficking in amounts reminiscent of the days of Pablo Escobar’s Colombia.
What do we get instead?
Michael Jackson’s memorial show has a limited number of tickets available. The event is going to be spectacular. People are clamoring for tickets. Downtown Los Angeles will be crazy as people try to come and watch and pay their respects. Michael Jackson’s estate is in debt but his assets are worth more. Jackson’s mother has temporary custody of his children. Jackson was abusing prescription medication. He was touring with a mobile clinic during his last concert series. Some of the contents of his home are up for auction.

Then and Now
I know more about Michael Jackson then I do my parents.
The man made some rather sizable charitable donations and championed some worthy causes, but he’s not the only celebrity to do so, and most other celebrities like to do it with less of the stigma attached.
Let’s face it. The “innocent-boy-wonder-of-entertainment” went out like Elvis did. I’m beginning to wonder if this is why Jackson’s last few albums were dismal. Or perhaps the reason he no longer went on extended tours. Or that this was the reason he was no longer the stellar live performer he once was. It’s rather tragic, but at least he had the common courtesy not to finish his last concerts on his back like The King did. I love the man’s early music, but Jackson didn’t get to be the King of Pop without some help.

MJ and...who?
It was good for a while, but then it got creepy. The man had become so odd. He had almost become a novelty.
I guess I need to remember that someone works at these news companies that decides what is news and what is not after all the advertising space is sold.
History has been made, ladies and gentlemen. America now has its first African-American president and quite frankly, I’m glad the United States has stepped out of the dark ages. Hopefully, this “change” happens. America needs some kind of change, as long as it’s a change for the better that benefits many, as far as I am concerned. I’m just skeptical because: he is a politician, he’s a politician that evolved in the most corrupt political environments in the United States (Chicago and Cook County, Illinois), and he’s just too good to be true.
Only time well tell.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Yeah, it was for Obama. Not too much on the ballot besides that in the Show-Me State of Misery. Casino propositions, tax propositions to fund mass transit, transportation projects, and government building renovation. Exciting, huh? There were federal judges on the ballot that I felt should be removed (all of them). There were some appointments during the previous administration that I deemed to be supportive of that administration and seek an agenda through that seat of power, besides the fact that some have sat for way too long. Lots of uncontested seats for state offices, which was a little disheartening. Of course, that’s probably because regular folks like me that could be good elected officials don’t have the money for a campaign, nor the desire for a political career. it would be fun for a while, but I couldn’t do that for 30 years.
Obama is the president! Well, according to Hart and Dixville Notch, New Hampshire.
Says so right here.
It’s not news, its CNN. “Dixville Notch has spoken.”
Well, if this is any comfort.
I love this tune.
Holy Ghost VS Twisted Individual & MC GQ - @ Baptazia - part 1
You have to watch it all the through because these folks are going insane.
It’s been a while. All this election shit and I haven’t been posting. It’s looking good for Obama and I like it. I’ll be done with college in December, just before Christmas, and I couldn’t ask for a better present. Time can’t fly by fast enough at right now. I got layed off recently, but I’m not going to let that get me down, people. The job market in St. Louis isn’t so hot right now, so the prospects are looking dim, but I keep on truckin’. It’s always darkest before the dawn. Hopefully, this guy can do something to make it better for all of us.

The real question is, was it just one person (besides Sarah Palin) that wrote that speech, or was it a team of writers?
According to this CNN article, it was an evening full of bad puns from political stiffs. Some the quotes are absolutely ridiculous.
I’m just a bit agitated at all the “she did this,” or “she did that” comments when all she really did was deliver a prepared speech. Politics and goverment has become a bad show. All dialogue and no action.
I don’t like Mr. Obama either, but there are some rather compelling quotes in this Washington Post article. I believe what Mr. Obama was quoted as saying was a rather successful parry and return strike in the verbal fencing.
Does anyone care what Joe Lieberman thinks? That old fart jumps ship when the shit hits the fan. He can’t even figure out which political party he wants to be a part of. Where’s the loyalty, Joe? It’s a rhetorical question, because Joe does whatever he needs to do to maintain his political career.
Lieberman is not a “stand-up guy.” Making him sit down to read “Profiles In Courage” would make me feel better.
Then I read this New York Times article. McCain has a wanker praising him and is likely to build his campaign foundation out of warmongering? These idiots don’t have kids that are over in Iraq fighting for one man’s agenda because they needed college tuition. Not that serving your country or protecting it is wrong, but what else are you going to do while you are in office, Mr. McCain? How about enact some legislation to provide decent jobs via government contracts and get some consumers out there spending money to help this ailing economy of ours? Instead, waste your time and other peoples lives instead of pulling them out of the Middle East, including Afghanistan, and use that manpower to protect our borders. Allow our trained forces to strike like a snake in tall grass that has had its peace disturbed. In Iraq, they have only become target practice for extremists.
I really hope a former prisoner of war has the heart not to perpetuate the farce that is Iraq.
